Venison Crock Roast

For folks that have gotten off of the water a bit and gone hunting, maybe you have been lucky and bagged Bambi. If not, this will also work with a traditional beef or pork roast. I love to cook in my crockpot. It allows me to have dinner ready when I get home from work without a lot of hassles. This recipe sounds a little unusual for crockery cooking, but follow the directions and you will be amazed. A green bean casserole and stir fried squash go well with this dish. Don't forget some good hot bread!

Roast (make sure it will fit in YOUR crockpot)

1 package of Lipton Onion Soup Mix

cinnamon

nutmeg

white pepper

paprika

aluminum foil

Start with a piece of foil large enough to wrap the roast. Lay the roast on the foil and cover both sides with a sprinkling of cinnamon, nutmeg, paprika and white pepper. Cover both sides with the soup mix. Wrap tightly in the foil. Set the foil wrapped roast in the bottom of the crock pot. ADD NO LIQUID! Place lid on crock pot and cook on low all day, generally 8 hours or so. It will make plenty of juice. This is very simple and you will be pleasantly surprised at how tender and delicious it is. Enjoy!
